Chef D of Mr. D's Homestyle Cooking

We're kinda known for our Fish Frys as we've been doing them for years. But this year was extra special. 19th PDAC President Dennis Lee put in a special call to none other than Chef D for his assistance. If you don't know him, get to know him. He's awesome, from his food to his commitment to helping his community.

In the catering field for twelve years, Chef D is a Catering and Pop Up Events Specialist. From soul food to homestyle and everything in between, Chef D caters to his client's wants and needs. He has catered for Senator Hughes and his wife Cheryl Lee Ralph, former Eagles player Rodney McCleod's "Sneaker Ball" for two

years, the Red Cross's "Red Ball" for eight years, 19th PDAC for four years and more. But you don't have to be in the public eye or have name recognition to hire Chef D. You just have to want to hire the best.

Equally impressive is Chef D's commitment to community. He has served as a Judge of Elections for 28 years and served 8 years on the Empowerment Zone Board in West Philadelphia. When he was asked, why did you feel compelled to donate of your time and culinary talents to the 19th PDAC's Annual Fish Fry, he simply stated, "I believe in

community and it was a good cause....if something is coming up and youth are involved I'm all in.....I support youth endeavors that promote growth".

Our Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser has always been a crowd pleaser and supports upcoming events such as the 19th District's ART Camp, Sneaker Ball Gala and Annual Family Fun Day. This year however, with Chef D's involvement, we were able to surpass our projected goals and shattered previous years' tallies. We would be remised not to acknowledge Chef D's contribution to our overall success. Way to go Chef D! We see you and appreciate you.

If you would like to hire Chef D of Mr. D's Homestyle Cooking for your special event, please call 215-802-1290.
